MCC give honorary life membership to Zaheer Khan

Former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan has been inducted as an Honorary Life Member of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on Friday (September 2). Zaheer Khan is the third Indian cricketer to be given this honour this year after Anjum Chopra and Virender Sehwag.

“Zaheer Khan was a fantastic servant to cricket in India and an integral part of their very successful side for many years,” John Stephenson, MCC Head of Cricket, said in a statement. “For this reason the Club is very pleased to award him with Honorary Life Membership.

“He was always great to watch when he played at Lord’s and we look forward to having him back here as an MCC Member,” he added.

Honorary life membership is awarded by the MCC committee to those individual who make a significant contribution to the game of cricket and projects surrounding the game, for a significant period of time.
