Mohsin Khan Got Emotional After His Last Over Heroics Against MI: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) returned to winning ways, after three indifferent games, with two back-to-back wins, and are on the verge to fix a spot in the playoffs as they are level on points with the Chennai Super Kings after 13 matches.
After defeating SunRisers Hyderabad with a miraculous chase, the Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians in a thriller in their last home game at Ekana Stadium on Tuesday at Ekana Stadium on Tuesday, May 16. Mohsin Khan put up a stellar show by defending 11 runs in the final over to get his side home against the most successful IPL team.
Mohsin Khan Made A Brilliant Comeback

Mohsin Khan had a difficult time last year. After a stellar season for Lucknow Super Giants last year, where he picked up 14 wickets in 9 matches at an economy rate under six, he was hailed as the next big thing in the Indian scene. Indian selectors kept a close eye, but an unfortunate injury ruled him out from the entire domestic season. His injury even put a question mark as a fast bowler. But he recovered from the injury and made a return to the field.
However, his return wasn’t a smooth one. He was seen struggling with the ball. Recently, he finally got the ball in his hand on May 7 against the Gujarat Titans, after a long gap of 12 months but it didn’t go as planned. He was taken to cleaners against the Gujarat Titans. Mohsin gave away 42 runs and was subsequently dropped from the next game against SRH.
On Tuesday, the team once again showed faith in him and this time he didn’t disappoint them. MI needed only 11 runs off 6 balls with big hitters Tim David and Cameron Green in the middle. With all the stakes against him, Mohsin gave the best of his performance in those last six balls.
His first three balls were length balls angled away from MI’s right-handers Tim David and Cameron Green. Now he had to defend 9 runs in just 3 balls and for that, he landed two picture-perfect yorkers to Green and sealed the game for Lucknow.
Mohsin Dedicated His Performance To His Father
Later, after the game, Mohsin got emotional saying that he felt like he bowled on Tuesday like he was doing last year for the franchise and dedicated his performance to his father, who was admitted to the hospital ICU for 10 days.
“Ek saal baad khel raha hun, beech mein injury ho gayi thi. Mere liye kaafi tough time tha. Jo last year maine bowling ki thi, mujhe aaj lag raha hai ki main voh kar paaya. Mujhe kaafi khushi hai(I am playing after one year as I was out injured. It was a really tough time for me. I felt like I bowled today how I was bowling last year. So, I am very happy.”
He added: “Recently, mere papa bhi abhi hospital mein the, ICU mein the 10 din se, voh bhi kal hi discharge hue hain. Unke liye bhi yeh match khel raha tha. Papa shayad dekh rahe honge TV pe. Toh unke liye khel raha tha. Unko bahut khushi hui hogi (Sadly, my father was in the hospital, in the ICU, he just got discharged yesterday so I was playing the match for him. He was probably watching the game on TV. So I was playing for him. He was in the ICU for the last ten days. He must be very happy),“
