Mohammad Amir’s Tweet About Virat Kohli’s 71st Century Is Going Viral: Former Indian captain Virat Kohli registered his 64th half-century in the 50-over format on Sunday during the third and final ODI match of the series against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town, however, the wait of the cricket fans for Kohli’s 71st century continues.
Virat took 63 deliveries to reach the half-century mark during India’s run chase of 288. After reaching the half-century, Virat celebrated in a unique manner while pointing towards his wife Anushka and daughter Vamika, who were present in the stands at the venue, as he dedicated his half-century to his family.
This was Kohli’s second half-century score in the series, having earlier scored 51 runs off 63 balls in the series opener in Paarl last week. In the second match, he registered a five-ball duck.
Virat Kohli ended up being the top-scorer of the 3rd and last ODI match against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town where the visitors fell short by 4 runs and lost the ODI series by 0-3.
During the 3rd ODI, Virat was early to arrive on the scene after India’s stand-by skipper KL Rahul departed for 9 runs. Though, the flamboyant batter brought up his 64th ODI fifty as he slammed 64 before Keshav Maharaj ended his journey to the much-awaited 71st century.
But before Virat Kohli’s dismissal, the world was anxiously waiting for the 33-year-old batter to touch the glorious three figures and end his century drought. Among many, Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amit also took to Twitter and expressed his anticipation for Kohli’s 71st century. He wrote:
