Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar came up with a beautiful and inspirational message on Monday on the occasion of the National Girl Child Day. Every year 24th January is celebrated in India as the National Girl Child Day to promote awareness about the rights of a female child and to promote the importance of their health and education.
Gender discrimination is a major problem faced by females in India and hence, this noble programme was initiated in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India, in order to spread public awareness about inequities that girls have to fight in Indian society. To enlighten everyone about the rights of a girl child.
The day is celebrated with organized programs including awareness campaigns about Save the Girl Child, child sex ratios, and the creation of a healthy and safe environment for girls.
Sachin Tendulkar, one of the most respected personalities in the country, took to Twitter, writing a few touching words on this topic. The Master Blaster requested his compatriots to empower the females, encourage them and provide the platform to fulfill their dreams.
Sachin Tendulkar tweeted: “Education & Sports fuel aspirations! On #NationalGirlChildDay, let’s empower our girls & give them the wings to dream and the freedom to achieve their goals.”
