In a recent interview with Star Sports, Cummins provided a straightforward response regarding his role as the SRH skipper and how he plans to handle players like Dhoni. He stated, “My main job as a captain is to get the best out of our guys, so obviously looking at the opposition a little bit and seeing what they’re doing, but I don’t think I’m going to try and outsmart someone like MSD.”

Following his acquisition, he was also designated as the captain of the franchise, replacing Aiden Markram. Despite not having the best start to the tournament, the team showcased an impressive performance in their first home game. They set the tournament ablaze by smashing a record-setting 277 runs against the Mumbai Indians, a match they eventually won.

However, that game stands as their solitary victory in the three matches played. Regarding Cummins’ captaincy philosophy, he reiterated it straightforwardly, stating, “Try and play your best and bring the best out of the guys, and hopefully, it works.”

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins is getting trolled for saying that he is “not going to try and outsmart someone like MSD.”
