Senior British journalist and world-renowned personality Piers Morgan lambasted the Australians for the controversial run-out of  Jonny Bairstow in the Lord’s Test by Alex Carey on Day 5 and following a verbal tussle with the MCC Members in the Lord’s long room at Lunch break.

Tempers flared up like visceral fire on Day 5 at Lord’s as the English crowd steamed up like, many journalists said, never before at Lord’s as the home fans went after the Australians.

In the first session of Day 5, as Australia continued with their short ball ploy, Jonny Bairstow ducked under a harmless, medium-paced bumper from Cameron Green. It was the last ball of the over, and Bairstow was quick to move out of the crease and started walking toward the other end, where in the middle of the pitch he and his batting partner Ben Stokes would have a chat, as usually batters do.

However, Alex Carey was quick to react, and a second after collecting the ball, and seeing Jonny Bairstow walk out of his crease. Carey threw the ball at the stumps and hit the target with Bairstow well outside his crease, unaware that Carey has ran him out. Alex Carey was the first to start celebrating the run out before the other Aussies joined in. Bairstow was given out after checking with the third umpire.

This created a big uproar amongst the crowd who booed the Aussies, in particular, Alex Carey severely. When at Lunch break, the Australians were going up the Lord’s first floor, below, the MCC members in the long room, taunted and teased them. Their verbal attack didn’t go unnoticed as Usman Khawaja and David Warner had a heated discussion with multiple MCC members. The video of this incident went viral and is a talking point for now.

Piers Morgan took to Twitter to post a snapshot of this incident. He tweeted, “Wow.. Aussies getting into angry confrontations with booing MCC members as they return to the pavilion. Never seen that.. but then I’ve seen an Australia side show so little regard for ‘spirit of the game’ in an Ashes Test..”
