Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has shared his thoughts about KL Rahul’s return to the team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Shastri believes that the Asia Cup 2023 return will be too much for Rahul, who has been out of action for the last four months and underwent surgery as well.
KL Rahul Is All Set To Make A Comeback In Asia Cup 2023

The former vice-captain is currently rehabilitating at the NCA, undergoing match simulation, and is hoping to make a comeback in the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup in 2023.
Speaking about the same on Star Sports, Shastri said: “When you are talking of a player who has not played and is recovering from injury. To think of him in the playing eleven of Asia Cup, you are asking little too much of the player himself,”
It has to be noted that a ‘fit’ KL Rahul is India’s first-choice wicketkeeper for the World Cup in 2023, in the absence of regular keeper Rishabh Pant, who is also out with multiple injuries. This is the reason Rahul’s fitness is a priority for Team India.
Shastri added: ”And then you are talking keeping when the guy has come from a knee injury, the range of movement, things like (that). That is a no, no straight,”
