Devdutt Padikkal’s struggles in IPL 2024 persisted as he could only manage a meager 6 runs off 11 balls. His dismissal marked a turning point in the game, with RCB staging a comeback after a blistering start by Lucknow Super Giants’ openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul.

De Kock went on to play a magnificent innings, notching up a superb half-century and ending with a total of 81 runs. Following his departure, Nicholas Pooran took charge, ensuring that he finished his innings strongly. Pooran’s aggressive knock of 40 runs off 21 balls added pressure on the RCB bowlers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Reflecting on his bowling performance, Glenn Maxwell emphasized his strategy of simplicity, aiming to induce mistakes from the opposition batters. Maxwell acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming chase for RCB and conceded that his team conceded some easy boundaries during the innings.

Glenn Maxwell acknowledged that the missed catches proved costly for RCB, resulting in additional runs for the Lucknow Super Giants. Despite this setback, Maxwell remained optimistic, expressing confidence that the RCB batters, if they get settled at the crease, could successfully chase down the target and secure victory for the team. Speaking to broadcasters, he said:

“The plan was to keep it simple and wait for a mistake. Probably going to be a tough chase because it’s (bounce) a bit inconsistent, we have to be at our best. I felt like we gave a lot of easy boundaries at the start and wanted to get a bit of energy and a wicket. Dropped catches cost us. I think it’s two paced so we have to be at our best. Hopefully the ones who get started can go on.”

Glenn Maxwell endured a disappointing performance with the bat against LSG, scoring a two-ball duck. This marks a challenging phase for the all-rounder, who will undoubtedly be eager to bounce back and make significant contributions in the upcoming matches for his team.
