It is being reported that Virat Kohli walked out of the nets the moment coach Anil Kumble arrived, after the warmup match against Bangladesh. While Team India are preparing to defend their title in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, all is not well between the Indian captain Virat Kohli and head coach Anil Kumble.
Even before India left for England, there were reports that Kumble will be sacked from his job because of his alleged differences with players, specially Virat Kohli. Earlier, we reported that Kohli and Kumble were up against each other in the dressing on the issue of including/not including Kuldeep Yadav in the Ranchi Test of the 4-match series between India and Australia. While Kohli didn’t want him in the playing XI, Kumble pushed his case and included him in the team. Although, Kuldeep bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets, Kohli wasn’t happy with Kumble’s idea of forcing his opinion. Reportedly, Kohli made a complain to BCCI that Indian cricketers aren’t able to express themselves freely in the dressing room, in rumble’s presence.
This is a very tricky situation for Team India because they are in the middle of a very important tournament and off-field matters are making bigger headlines than their practice or performance. Earlier, NDTV also reported that BCCI will be sending some members who will act as peacemaker between Kohli and Kumble to make sure that team focuses only on the game.
