The game between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans turned out to be a special occasion for the fans as Indian keeper-batter and DC’s regular captain Rishabh Pant made his first public appearance after his near-fatal car crash in December.
Rishabh Pant Made A Return To Stadium
As DC made its return to their home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, fans were greeted by a special guest — Indian Wicket Keeper , who is currently recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident last year in December.
Pant, who has been a part of the franchise since the 2016-17 season and has led the side since 2021, was ruled out of the ongoing season because of the multiple injuries that he suffered during the accident.
While Pant couldn’t help the team much from the stadium, he made sure to support the side from the stands. The star Indian keeper-batter didn’t hide his emotions and celebrated the dismissal of Gujarat Titans’ Hardik Pandya.
Pant was visibly delighted after Hardik was dismissed as he was seen doing a few Hi-5s with people around him in the stands.
Pandya’s dismissal took place in the 6th over of Gujarat’s chase as the GT captain edged a delivery from Khaleel Ahmed into the hands of Abhishek Porel behind the stumps. Poral, who is Pant’s replacement, received his debut cap his debut for DC tonight.

Talking about the match, riding on the stellar knock of Sai Sudharshan, Gujarat registered a six-wicket win against DC. David Millers also played a quick-fire cameo as he scored a stunning 16-ball 31 to complete the victory for his team with 11 balls to spare.
