The ongoing test series between the Men in Blue and the Australians is on full-swing, its day two in the Adelaide. All thanks to R.Ashwin, who kickstarted the day two with a fine spell that got him three wickets.
The Indian bowlers and fielders kept a tight leash over the scoring and they have made the target of 250 look big. Australian batsmen showed patience and are trying hard to catch up with the pace but with runs drying up and wickets falling, Australians seems to be in a trouble spot.
Ashwin’s introductory wicket came with Marcus Harris, who could only score 26 runs and had to return back to pavilion. For the second wicket, he had Shaun Marsh driving and dragging onto the stumps for 2 before piling on the pressure from his end. The third wicket came with Usman Khawaja, was done in by extra bounce and went back to pavilion after scoring 28 runs.
Cricketers, fans and cricket experts, everyone lauded his performance on social media. The legendary player, Sachin Tendulkar also took to twitter and appreciated the performance of R.Ashwin in the match. He seemed to be really impressed with him. Here, have a look at his tweet :
#TeamIndia should make the most of this situation and not lose their grip. The defensive mindset by the Australian batsmen at home is something I’ve not seen before in my experience. @ashwinravi99 has been very effective and has played a role to help the team be on top, for now.

India have a toe in the door. It didn’t seem likely in the morning. And that is what Pujara and Rohit and Ashwin have done. But it isn’t a total to have a party over.

Ashwin’s success today is not only explained by him feasting on his preferred left-handers. Compared to his last tour of Australia he is bowling fuller & slower. The signs of this evolution were present in South Africa & England as well.

Ravi Ashwin was superb right through. Shami, going wicket less did bowl some magic balls, ishant and Bumrah probed all day. Top quality bowling attack this. Big batting day for India tomorrow. That’s the key.

This has been a top bowling display by India, @ashwinravi99 has been very smart and has put Aus under pressure. Now for India to maintain the intensity and pick up the lower order #AusvInd

You have to wonder how a bloke like Joe Burns feels. He got rushed to Jo’burg after the sandpaper thing, made 42 in one innings, and then got dropped. Shaun Marsh hasn’t made 42 IN TOTAL in that time. #AUSvIND
