The Tendulkar family must be on cloud nine today as Arjun Tendulkar finally made his much-awaited debut for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League after being with the franchise for three seasons. Arjun made his debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, April 16. He received his debut cap from none other than the MI captain Rohit Sharma.
Arjun Tendulkar, who had a fantastic run in his maiden domestic season for Goa, has been practicing regularly and his hard work was finally rewarded when he was named as one of the impact substitutes against the Delhi Capitals. But his debut came on April 16th.
After stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bowl first, Arjun opened the bowling for the five-time champs. He got some swing at the start and utilized the same to get the new ball to move. However, he bowled just two overs in the game and conceded 17 runs, but he never looked out of place. In fact, many were impressed with his pace and movement of the ball.
Sara Tendulkar Wrote A Beautiful Note For Arjun Tendulkar
Meanwhile, Arjun’s elder sister Sara Tendulkar, who was also present at the Wankhede Stadium, where Arjun made his debut, took to her social media and shared a heartfelt post for her brother. She shared a clip of Arjun getting congratulated by his teammates on getting his debut cap. Sharing the video, Sara wrote:
“Happiest Sister Today #24.”

Earlier, the master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar also took to his social media and came up with a heart-touching post for his son. In his Instagram post, Sachin wished Arjun all the luck as he took another important step in his career. He wrote:
“Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back. You have worked very hard to reach here, and I am sure you will continue to do so. This is the start of a beautiful journey. All the best!👍💙🏏”
