Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was seen in a mood as he registered his first half-century of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League in their season opener against SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
As the game started, Sunrisers Hyderabad stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and opted to field against Rajasthan Royals in their campaign opener.
Sanju Samson Played A Brilliant Knock
Rajasthan got to a flying start with Buttler firing on all cylinders. He took over from where he left off the last season as he played a stunning knock of 54 runs, smashing 7 fours and 3 sixes.
After Buttler’s wicket, Yashasvi Jaiswal kept the side going before Samson also came into the act and took the game by storm with his amazing knock of 55 runs off 32 balls. His knock was laced with 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Samson, who has been timed and again ignored by the Indian selectors, reached his fifty in style by smashing Bhuvi to the fence for a four. Eventually, Samson was dismissed for 55, after an impressive catch by Abhishek Sharma at the ropes.
Riding on the stellar knocks of Sanju Samson (55 off 32), Jos Buttler (54 off 22), and Yashasvi Jasiwal (54 off 37), Rajasthan Royals posted a big total of 203 runs for 5 against SunRisers Hyderabad
Meanwhile, fans on social media are hailing the brilliance of Samson. From cricketers to experts and fans, everyone took to twitter and hailed the performance of the RR captain. Many came up with hilarious memes and jokes while appreciating his performance.
