Suresh Raina Hailed Rajasthan Royals On Their ‘Great Achievement’

Suresh Raina Hailed Rajasthan Royals On Their ‘Great Achievement’: The Rajasthan Royals brushed aside the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Qualifier 2, and in a grand style entered the Final of the IPL 2022, sending a strong message to the Gujarat Titans, about the potency of their pacers and the return to his beast form of Jos Buttler.

Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy’s three-wicket hauls each helped RR restrict RCB to a below-par total of 157, which RCB captain Faf du Plessis said was well about 20 short of a par total.

The Royals chased down the total with utter ease, with 7 wickets and 11 balls in hand as Jos Buttler struck his fourth century of the season – only the second batsman to do so after Virat Kohli in 2016 – carting the RCB bowlers all around the Narendra Modi Stadium for 106* runs from 60 balls.

So for the third straight season – and for the fifth time overall – RCB have qualified for the playoffs but failed to reach the final, apart from the three instances when they lost in the final. They have been good in parts and sporadically throughout the season, but not good enough to actually make a strong claim to the title.

On the other side, the Royals have now reached the IPL final only for the second time – having won their only final so far in 2008, under the leadership of the great Late Shane Warne.

Suresh Raina on RR’s great win

Reacting to the events of the game and its outcome, former India batsman Suresh Raina asserted that the “better team” won the game and went through to the final of the IPL. He also commended Jos Buttler – who has now struck 824 runs with 4 centuries and 4 fifties and has assured himself of the Orange Cap – for his thunderous knock.

“RR @rajasthanroyals make it to the #iplfinal after 14 years. @josbuttler has been a treat to watch. Great achievement. The better team reached the finals,” Raina, the former CSK batsman and now a commentator, tweeted.

Here’s Suresh Raina’s tweet on the RR-RCB encounter:

has been a treat to watch. Great achievement. The better team reached the finals. #RCBvsRR #ipl2022
