Suresh Raina Wrote A Beautiful Message For Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda played a sensational knock of 104 runs as the Indian side defeated Ireland by just four runs in the second match and registered a terrific win in the two-match T20I series 2-0 on Tuesday.

The Indian cricket team, riding on the terrific 176-run partnership between Hooda and Sanju Samson that helped the Indian side to post a total of 225 runs. The partnership between Hooda and Samson for the second wicket turned out to be the highest partnership for India in any position in T20Is.

During his stellar knock, Hooda smashed six sixes and 9 fours. He was eventually dismissed on 104 off 57 balls and helped India reach a score of 225/7.

Deepak Hooda registered his maiden century for India and reached the three-figure mark in just 55 balls. With this stunning century, Hooda became just the fourth Indian batter to score a century in the shortest format of the game. Star opener, KL Rahul, former cricketer Suresh Raina and all-format captain Rohit Sharma, are the only other batters to have scored centuries for the Indian cricket team in the T20I format.

Former Indian cricketer and world cup hero Suresh Raina took notice of Deepak Hooda’s exploits with the bat. Replying to a video shared by the official Instagram page of the ‘Indian cricket team’, Suresh Raina congratulated the batter on the big achievement. He wrote: “Welcome to the club @deepakhooda30 well played,”

Talking about the video shared by the BCCI, Deepak Hooda can be seen talking about his performance and the ‘nervous 90’s’. He said:

“We were telling each other of course that we will just follow our instincts. But yes, it was nervous 90’s. It was the first time I got to that situation playing for India. I was nervous but things turned out well,”
