Indian Cricket Team played brilliantly in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2017. But, they couldn’t cross the final hurdle as their arch-rivals Pakistan outplayed them in all three departments of the game, in the final.
Virat Kohli’s men going down against Pakistan in the final of ICC Champions Trophy was a big blow for billions of Indian cricket fans, who were almost certain that Team India will beat Pakistan and lift the ICC Champions Trophy.
The saddest part for Indian cricket fans was the manner in which India lost the final. Pakistan were too strong on the day and handed a crushing defeat to India. There was a widespread disappointment among Indian cricket fans both the teams will not face each other in the near future.
But hold on, what India’s men team couldn’t do, women might. In the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, India and Pakistan will be locking horns on 2nd July and all eyes will in India will be on their women’s team.
It promises to be a great match as both the team are well balanced. India are a very strong unit and the leader of the pack Mithali Raj is in outstanding form and has been leading from the front.
Talking about the balance of the team, Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy boost the batting to a considerable level while Jhulan Goswami and Ekta Bisht will shoulder the bowling.
Pakistan are also a strong team led by their star captain Sana Mir, Pakistan’s women cricket team, just like their men team, is known to be unpredictable. So, we expect an interesting contest between the arch rivals.
It’s time that fans from both the nations get behind their women team. It is a league match but when India and Pakistan, even a league match holds great importance.
