Top 3 Leg-Spinners In IPL 2023: Leg-spinners have been key in the resurgence of bowlers in T20 cricket. For they bring a certain mystery element – being able to turn the ball both ways – to the bowling. The IPL has seen probably all the best leg-spinners of the past 15 years feature in the tournament.

After Shane Warne, few overseas leg-spinners have really left their impressions on the IPL, on the other hand, the Indian leggies, with an advantage of having played all their lives in India and getting more chances than their overseas counterparts due to the 7-4 team combination rule, have made the most out of the conditions.

Heading into the IPL 2023, the competition once again boasts of some of the world-class leg-spinners.

Here are the 3 best leg-spinners in IPL 2023:

Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga is one of the few non-Indian spinners who have succeeded in the IPL. RCB forked out a whopping INR 1.75 crore for Hasaranga in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, and the Sri Lankan repaid the faith and price with a terrific season, taking 26 wickets, the joint-most in the season, as RCB made a rare hat-trick of playoff appearances.

Hasaranga has been one of the best T20 bowlers in the world in recent years: since the start of 2021, nobody has taken more T20I wickets than Hasaranga’s 73 wickets in 42 T20Is at an average of only 14.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal was the Purple Cap winner of IPL 2022 with 27 wickets to his name, playing a significant role in the Rajasthan Royals reaching their only second IPL final, and first after 2008.

While his T20I career in the past 3-4 years hasn’t been certain – it’s still flabbergasting to many fans that Chahal didn’t play a single match in the last two T20 World Cups – Chahal has performed well: Chahal is India’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 91 wickets. Chahal enters the IPL 2023 as a more learned, more mature cricketer, and a wiser man.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav seemed to be on turning the tables since returning to last IPL after an injury layoff and being dropped from India’s white-ball teams. In the IPL 2022, for Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep took 21 wickets – the 5th most in the tournament – and got back in the Indian team.

Since June last year, he’s featured in 7 T20Is, snapping up 7 wickets; he’s made more effect in the ODIs, picking up 29 wickets in his last 18 ODIs.
