MS Dhoni’s decision to step down as India’s ODI and T20 captain was the most trending topic on social media on 4th January 2017 (Wednesday). Dhoni took his fans by surprise by announcing this decision just a few days before the start of the much-awaited 3-match ODI series against England, which is scheduled to begin on January 15th.

Here are some of the tweets from fans, journalists, actors and cricketers after MS Dhoni announced his decision to step down from Team India’s limited-overs captaincy:

Giving up captaincy for team’s future is a small sacrifice for a man who has come late in batting order for his entire career for the team.
