Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batsman Marcus Stoinis found himself in the middle against Mumbai Indians (MI) perhaps much earlier than he would have thought as LSG lost three early wickets in 6.1 overs.
On a pitch that was keeping low and assisted the slower ball bowlers, LSG had found it difficult to get going early today in this crucial encounter that could have huge bearings on the eventual standing of both the teams in regard to the playoffs.
Marcus Stoinis has been in good hitting form in the IPL 2023. So he wasn’t afraid of skipping down the pitch of MI offspinner Hrithik Shokeen even though the surface was clearly assisting the spinners very much, having just seen Quinton de Kock get out to Piyush Chawla’s googly.
The Australian didn’t deter from going after the in-form Chawla either. To full, faster ball, he bent low and sweep Chawla for a handsome six over deep square leg.
