Virat Kohli Shocks Dhoni Fans With His Favorite Player In The World Choice

Superstar India batsman Virat Kohli snubbed MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers, two of his great friends and former teammates, to pick Sachin Tendulkar as his favorite cricket player of all time.

Growing up, Virat Kohli, like millions of kids in his era, idolized Sachin Tendulkar, who is hailed as the GOD of cricket for his incredible achievements with the bat in hand.

Among the many batters who were once touted to beat Tendulkar’s records, only Virat Kohli could manage to break some of Tendulkar’s records. Most recently, Kohli broke Tendulkar’s 49 centuries record and notched up his 50th ton during the World Cup 2023. In the same tournament, Kohli broke Tendulkar’s 673 runs record from the 2003 World Cup and became the first-ever batsman to rack up over 700 runs in an ICC World Cup.

Sachin Tendulkar always be at the top for me: Virat Kohli

“>During a candid conversation on One8 Commune’s YouTube channel, Virat Kohli was asked who was or is his favorite cricketer. Without missing a beat, the 35-year-old said: “Sachin Tendulkar is my favorite cricketer in the world. He’ll always be at the top for me.”

Meanwhile, speaking of Kohli, the 35-year-old has reached South Africa for the upcoming important 2-Test series, which is part of the World Test Championship 2023/25 cycle.

Kohli has been away from cricket since the heartbreaking loss in the World Cup final, and so have been Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. The trio will return in the Tests against the Proteas.

The first Test match will start on the Boxing Day, December 26, at Centurion. The second Test is at Newlands in Cape Town. Before the Test series, team India players will participate in a 3-day game from December 20.

Currently, the ODI series is going on with two games still left. India, under interim skipper KL Rahul, won the first ODI in Johannesburg.
