What is Arjun Tendulkar’s salary in IPL 2023?
Ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, Arjun Tendulkar was retained by the Mumbai Indians for 30 lakhs.
Arjun has been with Mumbai Indians since IPL 2021. In the IPL 2021 auction, MI bought the left-arm pacer for INR 20 lakh, his base price. Then after being released ahead of the mega-auction, MI bought Arjun for INR 30 lakh, 10 lakh more than his base price, in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. MI retained the 23-year-old for 30 lakhs for IPL 2023.
How has Arjun fared so far?
The 23-year-old has shown promising and impressive signs both with the new ball and old ball. He generated considerable swing and seam movement with the new ball in both his spells – Arjun bowled the 1st and 3rd over against both KKR and SRH. Against the likes of Harry Brook, Arjun showed his repertoire and smarts, by bowling back of length and short deliveries.
Arjun was then recalled for the last over of SRH’s innings, when SRH needed 20 runs in the last 6 balls with power-hitter Abdul Samad on the crease.
The youngster showed impressive execution in bowling wide yorkers brilliantly to the SRH lower-order. He bowled to the field with a short thirdman and a deep point very fine, almost near the deep thirdman position. That led to the run-out of Abdul Samad on the second ball. Again, Arjun continued to bowl yorkers and wide yorkers, and eventually, got his maiden IPL wicket, Bhuvneshwar slicing a full ball to Rohit at cover, having failed to get under the ball for his slog.

Speaking of his bowling and his emotions for his maiden wicket, Arjun Tendulkar said: “Obviously it was great getting my first IPL wicket. I just had to focus on what was in hand, the plan and executing it. Our plan was just to bowl wide and get the long boundary into play, make the batsman hit it to the longer side. I love bowling, I am happy to bowl anytime the captain asks me to and just stick to the team plan and give my best. We talk about cricket, we discuss tactics before the game and he tells me to back what I practise every game. I just focused on my release, bowling good lengths and lines upfront. If it swings, it’s a bonus, if it doesn’t, so be it.”
