WPL 2023: The much-awaited first edition of the Women’s Premier League is almost here and is all set to take the world by storm. The first-ever season of the WPL will kickstart on Saturday, March 4th, with the best and the most talented players from around the world gearing up for the upcoming marquee event.

The first-ever auctions for the inaugural edition of the WPL was held in Mumbai last month, Smriti Mandhana was the most expensive player, joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for ₹3.4 crores.  Aussie star Ashleigh Gardner was purchased by Gujarat Giants (GG) for 3.2 crores.

Meanwhile, the WPL 2023 will kickstart with Gujarat Giants locking horns against Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians (MI) in the season opener on Saturday at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

In the upcoming WPL 2023, all four franchises — MI, RCB, DC, GG, and UP will play four home and four away matches in the league stage. After the league phase is done, the top 3 teams will qualify for the next round, which will also see the table-topper book a direct seat for the summit clash. The third and the fourth-place sides will face each other in the Eliminator match for a spot in the final match.
