India’s swashbuckling batsman Yuvraj Singh sent out a strong signal to the selectors by smashing a double-hundred in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. Yuvraj Singh, who was overlooked for the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand, batted brilliantly with Manan Vohra and scored 260 runs off 370 balls. Manan Vohra, who also scored a double hundred in the match, formed a brilliant partnership with Yuvraj Singh for Punjab in reply to Baroda’s massive total of 529 runs.
On a flat track at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, Yuvraj played with a lot of flair and registered registered his career best individual score of 260 runs.
This knock by Yuvraj Singh will surely send a positive signal to selectors, who would want to make some changes in the squad for the next series as the young middle-order failed to deliver consistently in the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand.
Yuvraj Singh has been working hard on his fitness and is keen to comeback to the national squad. Yuvraj and his fans strongly believe that there is still a lot of cricket left in him and he can contribute towards India’s success in limited-overs cricket.
There is still a lot of cricket to played in Ranji Trophy this season and Yuvraj Singh would look to continue his good form and push the selectors for a spot in India’s ODI and T20 team.
