IPL Video: Monstrous Six By Liam Livingstone That Was Like A Slap To Mohammed Shami

Punjab Kings batsman Liam Livingstone is one of the most powerful, destructive batsmen going around in the world. The England ball basher has gained a reputation for hitting long sixes in his career, and that got him a hefty sum of INR 11.5 crore by Punjab Kings at the IPL 2022 mega-auction.

Even as PBKS failed to reach the playoffs, Livingstone glittered the IPL 2022 with his big, monstrous power-hitting: in IPL 2022, Livingstone cracked 437 runs at a belligerent strike rate of 182, smashing 29 fours and 32 jaw-dropping sixes.

One of those six is recorded to be amongst the biggest sixes ever hit in any form of cricket.

In a game between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, Liam Livingstone pulled Mohammed Shami for a towering 117-meter six! Yes – 117 meters!

Batting on just 2 runs, having just came out and haven’t yet settled himself in – not that he needed to, as he showed – Livingstone clobbered a back-of-length delivery from Mohammed Shami, one of the best seamers in the competition, and sent it way back, deep into the stands behind deep square fielder, who surely wouldn’t have contemplated catching that one.

It went high, and it went long: 117 meters. Mayank Agarwal couldn’t believe it and had his hand on his mouth.

Even Shami had an expression that said of admiration; he rarely gives those even to the best of the batters. But such was the brute, raw power that Livingstone put on that ball, coupled with immaculate timing to deposit it not just over 100 meters, but close to breaking Albie Morkel’s 122-metre IPL record of the biggest six in the IPL.
