2 AB de Villiers’ World Records which might not be broken in Future: One of history’s best batters, AB de Villiers, is widely regarded. One of the very few players in the world who mastered the knack of scoring runs in all three formats was the Proteas’ great batsman.

He has played in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs, and 78 T20 Internationals for the South African cricket team. With 22 centuries and 46 fifty-pluses, the former South African international amassed 8765 runs at an average of 50.7 in tests.

On the other hand, in one-day internationals, he amassed 9577 runs at an average of 53.5, including 25 centuries and 53 half-centuries. In T20Is, he amassed 1672 runs, including 10 half-centuries.

The cricket team in South Africa was truly fortunate to have a player of his calibre. AB de Villiers set numerous records as a batsman during his playing days of his cricket career. Let’s look at two of his world records in this post that might not be surpassed in the future.

It takes some effort to score a century in the 50-over format, but to do so in the quickest time possible is a remarkable accomplishment. With the fastest century ever achieved in just 31 balls, the former Proteas legend stunned the cricket community.

He accomplished the milestone in 2015 during an ODI at the Wanderers against the West Indies cricket side. During his time at the crease, he built his innings using 16 sixes and 9 fours. In the end, AB de Villiers scored a brilliant 149 off 44 balls.

2. Fastest 150 in ODIs

At the 2015 ICC ODI World Cup in Australia, AB de Villiers’ best ODI innings was against the West Indies. He achieved the quickest 150 in One-Day Internationals, a mark that will never be surpassed.

With only 64 balls, AB de Villiers completed the feat. In fact, he reached the 100-run milestone in just 52 pitches before scoring another 50 runs in the following 12 pitches he faced. He hit up to 17 fours and 8 sixes while scoring 162 off 66 balls to remain unbeaten.
