15 seasons of the IPL are completed. The IPL 2023, which will be the 16th edition of the competition, will kick start on March 31 with the final slated for May 28 in Ahmedabad.

Former RCB opener Chris Gayle holds the record for the highest individual score in the IPL history – Gayle played a thunderous knock of 175* runs from 66 balls against Pune Warriors India in 2013 IPL.
The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle was in his element against the ineffective Pune bowling attack and rained fours and sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium that day.
In an unforgettable 102-minute mayhem, Gayle smashed 13 fours and 17 sixes. Along with his 175* record, his record of 17 sixes in one innings from a batsman still stands in the IPL.

Brendon McCullum – 158* vs RCB, 2008
Brendon McCullum lit up the IPL on its first-ever day in Bangalore. In the first match of IPL 2008, the KKR opener’s blitzkrieg stunned RCB as McCullum blasted 158* runs in 73 balls with the help of 10 fours and 13 sixes as KKR rumbled to a total of 222 while RCB could only manage 82.
The first day of the IPL was a seismic event and Brendon McCullum made sure everyone will remember it forever. Interestingly, no KKR batsman has since hit a century in the IPL.

Quinton de Kock has established himself as one of the best white-ball openers in the world and has been in demand in the IPL auctions. The Lucknow Super Giants bought de Kock for 6.75 crore in the IPL 2022 auction and the left-hander formed a formidable pair with skipper KL Rahul.
Quinton de Kock was at his aggressive best against KKR in a match played on a good pitch at the DY Patil Stadium. The South African plundered 140* runs in 70 balls while KL Rahul scored 68*(51).
De Kock’s scintillating knock was laced with 10 fours and 10 sixes as he overshadowed his captain KL Rahul. LSG amassed 210/0, but KKR almost chased it down courtesy of Rinku Singh’s late power-hitting, but LSG managed to hold their nerves and win the game by only 2 runs.
