Despite being a multi-team format league, sometimes the chatter is all about an individual instead of the teams. Talking about that, Dhoni’s performance in a CSK match has always become the topic of discussion and something similar happened last night when MS Dhoni was seen struggling with the bat in a match against Delhi Capitals.
Though, the legendary wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni contributed from behind the stumps, however, yet again, he couldn’t gain the much-needed momentum during his knock.
Riding on the amazing performance of Prithvi Shaw and a breezy partnership of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals posted a target of 175 runs for CSK. However, Delhi Capitals gave a stunning performance with the ball as well as they took CSK by a storm and bundled up their top-order in quick successions.
However, what disappointed the fans, even more, was the consistent failure of MS Dhoni. After failing in the second game, fans expected a solid comeback from MS Dhoni, however, the hopes were shattered into tiny pieces. Besides Dhoni, the top and middle order of the team was seen struggling badly in the absence of Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina.
After getting defeated by 44 runs, the skipper of CSK, MS Dhoni walked with a smile and ever-so-calm nature for the post-match presentation. He admitted that they need to figure out the problem and they will make a solid comeback soon. He said:
“We are lacking a bit of steam in the batting and that hurts. The run rate keeps on mounting after such slow starts and adds pressure, we need to figure that and we have 6 days break and help us to come back stronger”
While social media is flooded with trolls and memes from Dhoni’s critics and heartbroken tweets from his fans, Dhoni got the biggest support from none other than Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
After the match, megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter and praised the cool as cucumber nature of MS Dhoni. He wrote:
“T 3671 – The silent calm of cool ..”
