Renowned Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has picked RCB star batsman Virat Kohli to end up as the leading run-scorer of Indian Premier League 2023 and finish the tournament with the Orange Cap.
The Indian Premier League 2023 has reached its halfway stage with all the teams having played 7 matches each and 35 games are done and dusted. The second phase of the league stage commenced with a mouth-watering encounter between RCB and KKR on Wednesday night at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
In the pre-match show on Star Sports, Bollywood actress Ananya was invited as a guest appearance while she promoted her upcoming movie, Dream Girl 2, which will also star the versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
During the show, Ananya Panday was asked which batsman will end up with the Orange Cap in Indian Premier League 2023 and the 24-year-old actress picked Virat Kohli.
“I think…this time, it will be (Virat) Kohli,” She said.
In 7 innings, Kohli has amassed 279 runs at an average of 46 and a strike rate of 141. The RCB opener has notched up 4 fifties in 7 innings.
Virat has only won the Orange hat once, in 2016, when he racked up 973 runs, which is still the record for most number of runs in an IPL season and is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
Virat Kohli leads RCB again, elects to bowl first vs KKR:
Kohli came out for toss for the third game in a row. He’s been leading the side because Faf du Plessis is dealing with a back injury, but the South African has been coming on as an Impact Player to only bat and rests while fielding.
