Fans at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium welcomed MS Dhoni aka Thala with open arms as they chanted “Dhoni..Dhoni..” at the ear-deafening voice when he came out for the toss. The fans went wild as they continued to cheer for Thala whenever he was shown on the giant screen. The chants and cheers doubled and tripled when the CSK captain walked out to bat, donning his pads and the bat.
MSD walked out to bat in the 20th over of the innings and faced only one delivery. However, that was enough for the Bengaluru crowd to go berserk as they cheer for the legendary captain. The buzz was so palpable that those who were sitting in the RCB camp were left stunned by the craze for the CSK captain.

Virat Kohli‘s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was also bowled over by the fans’ support for MS and she couldn’t stop herself from reacting to it. She was seen saying “They love him” to family members of one of the players.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, MSD scored only one run off the single ball that he faced. Earlier, riding on the half-centuries from Devon Conway and Shivam Dube, CSK put on a huge total of 226/6 on the scoreboard.
Conway played a stellar knock of 83 runs off 45 balls, while Dube smashed 52 off 27 balls. Ajinkya Rahane also played his part in the big total and hit 20 off 37 balls.
Later, RCB made a forgettable start to the chase and lost the wicket of Virat Kohli in the first over itself. It will be interesting to see whether RCB is able to chase down the total.
