After kickstarting the IPL 2020 with a bang in the first match by beating their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in the season opener, CSK has gone on to lose two back-to-back games. The team is struggling badly, especially in the batting department. The team is surely missing the presence of their star performer, Suresh Raina, who has been a batting mainstay for the team for a long time now.
Suresh Raina had pulled out of the IPL 2020 citing personal reasons. While the fans are praying for the return of Mr. IPL in the league, Chennai Super Kings’ CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that Suresh Raina will not return to the UAE for the ongoing season of IPL.
Recently, in an interview, Kasi Viswanathan said that the decision was made by Suresh Raina himself and the team will respect his decision. He said:
“See, we cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it.”
So far, CSK is not looking good in this season. Talking about the ongoing performances of the CSK squad, the CEO of CSK said:
“We have been blessed with some of the best fans in the cricketing world and I can assure them that we will bounce back strongly. It is a game and you have your good days and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and the smiles will be back.”
Apart from Suresh
Raina, the team is also missing the presence of Ambati Rayudu, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first match. Talking about him,
CSK’s CEO said:
“As I told you last day (before the Delhi Capitals game), he would miss one game at worst. He is fit and ready for the next game.”
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 2nd October. It will be interesting to see if CSK will be able to make a strong comeback or not.
