England’s All-Rounder Ben Stokes Suffered A Strange Injury Today

The second day of the ongoing Test match between England and South Africa was an interesting one as England’s ace fast bowler James Anderson bowled extremely well and showed his class.

James Anderson took four quick wickets to bowl South Africa out on the second morning at Trent Bridge and picked a yet another 5-wicket haul in Test cricket.

However, a strange incident led to an injury concern for the hosts. England’s star all-rounder and one of the most exciting players to watch in world cricket, Ben Stokes injured himself while fielding at covers.

Stokes dived to his right in the covers to save a run off Anderson’s bowling and his slide on the grass had dropped his trousers. Stokes then tried to quickly get up on his feet and throw ball towards the non-striker’s end, but his movement was restricted by his lowered waistband, and he tried to get up, he managed only to look extremely awkward and either suffered a side strain or rib injury.

Stokes remained on the turf unaware about his camoflauged boxer shorts being on display as Stuart Broad and James Anderson were first to check on him. It was a very worrying moment for England cricketers and fans as the physio came running in from the dressing and took charge of the situation.

More to follow…

Brief scores: South Africa 335 (Hashim Amla 78, Quinton de Kock 68; James Anderson 5-72) lead England 85/2 (Joe Root 52*; Morne Morke 1-19) by 250 runs.
