Harbhajan Singh is one of the key members of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad. However, the cricketer was not given a chance to play in the World Cup 2015, which was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. India was defeated in the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup, by Australians.
Recently, Harbhajan Singh expressed his disappointment over the same for the first time. Harbhajan Singh said that a lot of players from the World Cup squad should have played in the next World Cup. The veteran spinner named Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and himself a few of the players who should have played another World Cup for India. Talking about the same, he said:
“Many players from the 2011 World Cup could have played the next World Cup. Like Me and Yuvi, Gambhir, certainly we could have played the next world cup but we were dropped. I don’t know what was the agenda of leaving us all aside,”
Expressing his disappointment over his World Cup snub, Harbhajan Singh said:
“It was like your work is done now you can leave. We have to make a new team. Why do you need a new team? You need it when the team has not won. We won the World Cup and you should take the team forward”.
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh, who has represented India in 103 Tests and 28 T20 Internationals and has 269 ODI wickets under his belt.
