India’s U19 team’s new sensation Ravi Bishnoi has been receiving praises from all corners after his brilliant show at the just-concluded U19 World Cup, where the Indian cricket team had a heartbreaking defeat by the hands of Bangladesh’s cricket team.
However, it was Ravi Bishnoi’s performance that kept everyone’s hopes alive until the last moment. Ravi Bishnoi has become the center of attraction after the conclusion of India vs Bangladesh’s clash in World Cup finale, where he picked up four key wickets for India and turned the tables for his side at a few points during the match.
Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who recently made a comeback to the ODI side after six months, went on to pick three wickets in the just-concluded three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
Considering the recent performances of both the Indian cricketers, many cricket experts, and fans suggested Bishnoi should be fast-tracked to the national cricket team replacing Yuzvendra Chahal.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who is regarded as one of India’s greatest spinners of all-time, feels Bishnoi shouldn’t be compared with anyone. He believed the young talent should one his skills more before he is picked in the National team. Showering praises on Bishnoi’s performance at the recently-concluded U19 World Cup, Harbhajan Singh said:
“Don’t compare Bishnoi with anyone. I would like to see him grow as time goes by. He has done well and now he needs to think how to take a step further that includes how he will perform in the IPL and at the Ranji Trophy level. If he performs consistently there, he will surely be considered. But I would like to see him bowl more leg-spin rather than the googlies,”
Harbhajan Singh also explained why Bishnoi should become a leg-spinner. He said:
“Bishnoi should become a leg-spinner who will fox a batsman with his googlies. You shouldn’t be just another bowler who is bowling googlies because your leg-spin is not good enough”
