The third and final ODI between India and New Zealand turned a day of firsts for Team India however from the wrong side of achievement. The Indian cricket team was white-washed completely in the just-concluded three-match ODI series by the hands of New Zealand since 1988-89 season. Not just this, India’s bowling sensation, Jasprit Bumrah also remained wicketless throughout the series for the first time.
Jasprit Bumrah, who is regarded as one of the finest bowlers of the Indian cricket team has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling on social media after he failed to pick wickets in the ODI series.
Jasprit’s glorious career was briefly halted by a back injury last year and ever since he has returned, he has failed to leave a mark with his performance.
He gave a miserable performance in the ongoing ODI series. In the first ODI, he conceded 53 runs without picking up a wicket, in the second ODI against New Zealand, Bumrah again failed to pick any wickets and give India a much-needed breakthrough. In the last and final ODI, he finished with 0 for 50 in 10 overs.
Ahead of the upcoming Test series, Jasprit Bumrah’s form has become a huge cause of concern for Virat Kohli led the Indian cricket team. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket fans are very disappointed with the performance of one of the most loved bowlers of the country. Fans are worried about the poor form of Jasprit Bumrah and are expressing their concerns about it.
There are many who are trolling Jasprit Bumrah for going wicket-less in the series. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on Jasprit Bumrah’s poor performance:
