Harsha Bhogle Takes A Dig Modi Government On The Issue Of CAA: Ever since the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in both the Houses of Parliament, a lot of violent scenes were observed in the country. It has become one of the most debatable topics on social media.
On Tuesday, popular cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle took a dig at the Central Government for not doing anything to address the fear among the people of India regarding the recently passed Citizenship Amendment Bill and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
In his long post on Facebook, Harsha Bhogle stated that winning elections isn’t a good enough reason to highlight the differences among the people of India. He also reminded everyone how this country used to be open to new economic policies in the 1990s. In his post on Facebook, Harsha Bhogle wrote:
“Winning elections isn’t a good enough reason for highlighting differences between us. My naive view of the world tells me that creating opportunities through liberalisation and openness and togetherness could win more elections”
He added:
“This is a great time to be a benevolent government; to think of education, of infrastructure, of technology; to remove barriers, to embrace openness, to free this beautiful generation to take India beyond where we think it can be,”
Harsha Bhogle also brought in the work done by the former ministers to improve the economic condition of India. He wrote:
“Maybe Narasimha Rao was forced into opening up India by the calamity that would have befallen us otherwise. Maybe Manmohan Singh had no choice but to deliver the budgets he did. But they saw the writing on the wall and they acted,”
He added:
“It is a beautiful India and it has been nurtured by people who are liberal and secular at heart. Those are beautiful words.”
