Prabhsimran Singh gave the Punjab Kings a ballistic start in their Indian Premier League 2023 campaign, in their first game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali.

The 22-year-old youngster played his shots fearless against two veteran KKR pacers, Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee, cracking 23 quickfire runs in only 12 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

In the first over, Prabhsimran Singh whipped Umesh off his legs to a maximum. In the second over, he stroked two brilliant fours to Southee before launching the Kiwi seamer over cow corner for a six.

Opener’s innings, however, came to end via some bad luck as he got strangled down the legside, and was caught by the wicket-keeper.

This got the fans interested in the youngster from Punjab: Prabh Singh.

Who is Prabhsimran Singh? What is his domestic record? Has he played in the IPL before?

22-year-old Prabh Singh has been part of the PBKS since 2019 and had played in 6 IPL matches before IPL 2023, scoring only 64 runs with a best of 16.

Today, in the absence of the injured Jonny Bairstow, Prabh Singh opened alongside Shikhar Dhawan and gave his side a blinder of a start.
