A lot has already been said about MS Dhoni’s retirement. Speculations are so high on his future that every time a limited-overs’ squad is announced, fans starts asking questions about his future from the selectors and management.
While fans can’t wait for the veteran to make a solid comeback in the team and watch him in action again, MS Dhoni, on the other hand, has wished to not to be asked about his International come back until January.
Now, amidst all the hue and cry, on Friday the newly-appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that there’s enough time to decide on Dhoni’s future. His statements came n the wake of Ravi Shastri’s, the Indian head coach, remarks that IPL will decide if MS Dhoni will be in the playing squad of World Cup 2020 or not. Sourav Ganguly said:
“We will see what happens, there’s enough time. Of course it will get clear (within three months),”
A question of uncertainty came in front with Ravi Shastri and MS Dhoni’s statement, but Sourav Ganguly said there was “absolute clarity” among the team think-tank regarding the future of MS Dhoni. He said:
“No no, there is clarity, but certain things cannot be said on public platform. There is absolute clarity on MS Dhoni and you’ll find out in time,”
He added:
“There’s transparency between the Board, MS and the selectors. When you deal with such champions — MS Dhoni is an unbelievable athlete for India — certain things have to be kept within the closed doors. It’s very transparent and everybody knows where they stand,”
Well, the former skipper played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup. As soon as the world cup was over, he took a sabbatical from the game and kept on extending it. The fans can’t wait for the veteran to make a solid comeback in the team and watch him in action again.
