Update On Ambati Rayudu’s Injury:MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings suffered a huge blow as they faced their first defeat of the ongoing IPL 2020 in a match against Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Ground. CSK badly missed the presence of their star player Ambati Rayudu at number 3 positing during the match their wickets bundled up and failed to chase the target of 217 runs.
Ambati Rayudu emerged out as the match-winner for Chennai Super Kings in the season opener against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Rayudu scored a stunning 71 as he revived the innings for the Yellow Army from 6 for two to a 5-wicket victory while also forming a formidable partnership with Faf du Plessis, where the duo stitched a 115-run stand for the third wicket.
However, Rayudu missed the second match against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday and was replaced by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who went back to pavilion without even opening his run-account.
Meanwhile, there are reports that claims that Rayudu is likely to miss two more matches for the 3-time IPL winners. Even the CEO of Chennai Super Kings Kasi Viswanathan, in an interview with ANI, said that there is no reason to worry about Ambati Rayudu’s injury as he is recovering well and will need to rest for one more match to come back even more stronger. He said:
“Nothing to worry about. He has the hamstring injury, but will at worst miss one more game. But you never know, he might be fit in time for that game,”
Chennai Super Kings will next play against Delhi Capitals on September 25 followed by a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2nd.
