KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir fired shots against RCB, taking a hilarious and jaw-dropping swipe at RCB’s trophyless cabinet ahead of the RCB vs KKR encounter on Friday night.

Friday night promises to be an epic in IPL 2024 as Gambhir and KKR return to the Chinnaswamy stadium to take on Virat Kohli’s RCB.

While RCB and KKR themselves have built a rivalry over the years with some epic matches, the rivalry everyone awaited for resumption is between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have a history behind them, (you can read about it here) something that could fire up both the main protagonists of their respective sides tonight as well.

I would love to go on the cricket field and beat RCB: Gautam Gambhir

Ahead of the match, Gambhir took epic digs at RCB for not winning a single trophy yet, but acting like they have won everything. The former KKR captain also said that beating RCB has always been his desire considering RCB have had some of the biggest T20 players in Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle.

Speaking with Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir said, “One team which I wanted to beat every time, probably even in my dreams, is RCB. RCB is the second most high-profile team, and flamboyant team, with the owner, and with their squad – Gayle, Kohli, AB de Villiers.

“RCB hasn’t won anything, but they still thought they won everything. That kind of attitude. Probably the three best wins that KKR ever had was against RCB. The first game of the IPL – Brendon McCullum one. Then 49 all out. And the 6 overs 100 runs – Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn.

“We always knew that RCB are a very strong side. They have had probably the most aggressive batting unit. One thing I wanted out of my IPL career, and I would love to have it again is to go on the cricket field and beat RCB.”
