IPL 2022: The IPL is the most competitive and intense T20 tournament in the world. With such high level of expectations, with careers on the line, in a tournament where a single run or one wicket could have long-lasting effects, tempers are bound to flare up. Players are bound to let out their emotions.
This season has been no different; in fact, there have been a number of memorable reactions from this season than say in the past couple of years of IPL.
Here are the top 8 moments when cricketers got angry in the IPL 2022:

Rishabh Pant threatening to call his batsmen back
Nothing this season drew more drama, more controversy, more debates than Rishabh Pant and Delhi Capitals‘ protest, in their game versus Rajasthan Royals, to the umpires – so much that Pant even signalled his batters – Rovman Powell and Kuldeep Yadav – to return back in the dugout after the umpire didn’t give a waist-high no-ball to Powell and also refused to check with the third umpire.
With 36 needed off the last over against Rajasthan Royals, Powell smacked Obed McCoy for three sixes, the third one DC felt was a no-ball. When his batters didn’t leave the field, Rishabh Pant sent assistant coach Pravin Amre inside the playing arena to talk with the umpires, who remained stubborn on their decision and the game went on. Both Pant and Amre, and Shardul Thakur, were slapped with fines.

Marcus Stoinis’ outburst against the umpire
LSG needed 34 off 12 balls to chase down 182 against RCB when Josh Hazlewood, in order to have Marcus Stoinis fetch the ball, bowled outside the tramline after seeing the batter shuffle. While Stoinis assumed it would be called a wide, the umpire felt it was in his arc and deemed it legal.
On the next ball, Stoinis shuffled again and attempted a slog sweep but got bowled off his pads. He was furious and let out a scream, probably still upset about the wide not called.
Umpire gave a no signal to a wide ball just before his wicket .

Riyan Parag–Harshal Patel tussle
Riyan Parag’s first half-century this season came against RCB as he bailed out his team from a precarious position taking them to a total of 144, which eventually proved enough for RR to claim a win.
At the end of RR’s innings, though, things got heated up between Parag and RCB’s Harshal Patel. Both were involved in a serious altercation, a video revealing that something was said to Parag was on his way to the dressing room leading to a close tussle between the RR batter and RCB’s death specialist.

Hardik Pandya yells at Mohammed Shami
Gujarat Titan’s captain Hardik Pandya was seen expressing his anger and disappointment at senior pacer Mohammed Shami after the latter didn’t go for a catch off SRH batsman Rahul Tripathi during their encounter.
Tripathi uppercut Hardik’s short delivery to third-man. While Pandya thought it was a good catching chance and Shami should have gone harder at it, the senior seamer didn’t put in a dive and instead stopped himself from attempting the catch.
Shreyas Iyer shouting at Venkatesh Iyer
During their game against Rajasthan Royals, Shreyas Iyer, the new Kolkata Knight Riders captain, was really upset with his batting partner Venkatesh Iyer when the latter refused to complete the second run. In fact, Shreyas was almost mid-pitch when Venkatesh denied him the double.
Shreyas managed to get to his crease quickly but on turning back, he furiously shouted at Venkatesh, gesturing that he should have gone ahead with the double.

Jadeja almost throws his cap after Dube drops a catch

Then the CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja was already having a hard time leading the franchise. It further compounded when Shivam Dube dropped a dolly of a catch of Gujarat Titans‘ David Miller.
In his anger, Jadeja almost threw his cap on the ground, but restrained himself from doing at the last moment. But the fury and exasperation on Jadeja’s face were conspicuous. Turns out the catch proved costly for CSK as Miller, and Rashid Khan, won the close run-chase for GT.
Virat Kohli upset with his luck:

At this point in time, everyone can agree that Virat Kohli’s struggle for runs this season has a lot to do with his luck. The former RCB captain was seen asking god himself for some rub of the green after his dismissal against Punjab Kings. Kagiso Rabada’s delivery brushed the underside of his glove and off his thigh pad lobbed straight to the fine leg fielder bringing end to another of his low-scoring knock this season.
On his way back to the dressing room, Kohli was seen animatedly having a chat with the deity himself. His reaction – arms widespread, some words sent upwards – went viral.
Ishan Kishan hits the boundary cushion with bat

The most expensive pick of the mega-auction, Ishan Kishan hasn’t had an ideal season with the bat. In of the games, after getting out for a cheap score against LSG, a frustrated Kishan smashed the boundary cushion with his batting.
