After MS Dhoni, it appears that a biopic of another former India captain, Virat Kohli, is now in order. In advance of the IPL 2023, Ram Charan, the ‘Rise Roar Revolt’-famous Telugu actor who is now well-known, revealed his desire to play Kohli in the cricketer’s biography. MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), had already appeared in a film titled “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” in which the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput played the lead part. Moreover, former Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Kohli may soon have a movie made on him.

With the release of SS Rajamouli’s masterpiece Rise Roar Revolt, Ram Charan gained widespread recognition. The song “Naatu Naatu,” which features Ram and Jr. NTR, received the Oscar for Best Original Song. Ram has played a range of on-screen parts, but the actor has claimed that he would like to be a part of a sports biopic.

The former Indian captain Virat Kohli, he continued, is someone he would relish playing if given the chance.

Ram said this immediately during the first ODI between India and Australia, when Virat was caught performing the Naatu Naatu hook step. He burst into his signature dance when the Australian players took the field.

Cricketers and Biopics

In the past, Bollywood has had great success with sports biopics. Biopics about former Indian leaders MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev, such “MS Dhoni” and “83,” have performed remarkably well at the box office given that cricket is the most popular sport in the country.

The legends of the women’s Indian cricket team are the subject of the biopics “Shabaash Mithu” by Mithali Raj and “Chakda Xpress” by Jhulan Goswami, both of which are currently under production.
