It has been really long since MS Dhoni was last seen on the field. The former skipper played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup. As soon as the world cup was over, he took a sabbatical from the game and kept on extending it.
While the speculations on his retirement are at its peak, Dhoni talked about his future and said: “Don’t ask me till January.”
Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer Joginder Sharma revealed the reason why MS Dhoni has not featured in any game since the world cup 2019. Talking about the same, Joginder Sharma said:
“Dhoni is very strong, both physically and mentally. There must be a lot of reasons behind the decision (to not play after the 2019 World Cup) he has taken. He has a family, a personal life, maybe he is preparing himself in a different way,”
Joginder Sharma has a close connection with MS Dhoni. Joginder was once a part of the Chennai Super Kings before a brutal car accident where he suffered a head injury in 2011. However, he made a comeback with his state’s team in 2012-2013. He played for a few more years in domestic cricket before he joined the police force. He said
“Until 2017 I was playing for Haryana. After that, I continued my job with the police and am doing it regularly now. For that reason, I am a little away from cricket at the moment. But it remains my passion, to give back to the game in whatever way I can. Playing again is tough but I will come back to do something in cricket,”
