“It Is Of Captain…”: Rinku Singh Reveals Whose Bat He Used To Hit 5 Sixes In Last Over

KKR batsman Rinku Singh scripted one of the most famous wins in IPL history by smashing 5 consecutive sixes in the last over to Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal in their match on Sunday at the Narendra Modi stadium.

First, with 39 runs needed off the last 8 balls, Rinku Singh smoked Josh Little for a six and a four. Umesh Yadav took a single on the first ball of the 20th over, and then with 28 needed off 5 balls, the left-hander clattered Dayal for 5 sixes in a row to seal a memorable run-chase and give one of the most epic finishes to a cricket match, eking out extreme emotions from everywhere.

A delighted Nitish Rana was heard saying that he’d love to gift something more to Rinku .

โ€œAgar mera aaj kuch bhi hota, maine bat aapko de hi diya hai apna jisse aap ne paanch chakke maare agar mere pass kuch aur bhi cheej hoti toh aaj mai aapko dene ko taiyyar tha koi aisi cheez jo aap maangna chahte ho mere se (I gave you my bat and you hit those five sixes from it, if you want anything else from me, feel free to ask),โ€ said Rana.

Smilingly, Rinku replied: โ€œNahi nahi bhaiya aapka pyar hai, aapka pyar his chahiye aur kuch nahi chahiye (I only want your love and nothing else).โ€

After Rinku hit the match-winning six, Nitish Rana was the first one from the KKR camp to come out running and celebrated with Rinku Singh.

Here is the heartfelt chat between Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh:

Speaking of his mind-boggling innings of 48*(21) and his mindset during the last over, Rinku Singh said:ย โ€œTo be honest I was not thinking much. Just reacting to every ball,โ€ Rinku said at the post-match presentation. โ€œI never thought I would hit five sixes. I just kept hitting. I had the belief. And we won the match.โ€

โ€œI had the inner belief that I can do it because I had also played [a similar] innings last year against Lucknow [Super Giants]. There also I had such a belief and today, too, I showed that belief. Rana bhai told me: โ€œbelief rakhiyo, aakhri tak kheliyo (keep the belief, stay till the end),โ€ he said.
