PBKS vs KKR: Impact Player List Of Both Teams: For match number 2 of IPL 2023, the Punjab Kings are hosting the Kolkata Knight Riders in the afternoon game on Saturday, April 1st, at 3.30 PM at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Both the teams have new captains for this season, though for different reasons: PBKS appointed Shikhar Dhawan as their new skipper after releasing Mayank Agarwal, while the KKR were forced to pick up an interim captain – Nitish Rana – after Shreyas Iyer’s back injury.
Nitish Rana won his first toss as Kolkata Knight Riders captain and elected to bowl first in Mohali.
The playing XIs of both the teams are revealed and so is the list of 5 substitutes, one of which can be brought on as an Impact Player anytime during the match.
PBKS vs KKR Playing XI and Substitute list for Impact Player:
PBKS (Playing XI): Shikhar Dhawan(c), Prabhsimran Singh(w), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jitesh Sharma, Shahrukh Khan, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Nathan Ellis, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh
KKR (Playing XI): Rahmanullah Gurbaz(w), Mandeep Singh, Nitish Rana(c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Shardul Thakur, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Anukul Roy, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy

The IPL 2023 also sees, for the first time in the competition’s history, the Impact Player rule. The BCCI has decided to introduce this new rule as it believes this will add a new tactical, strategic dimension to the game. A number of team sports in the world like football, rugby, basketball, and baseball allow teams to make tactical substitutions where the substitute is allowed to perform or participate like any other regular player.
Every captain will have to nominate substitutes and any one of them can be used as the team’s Impact Player and can bring that player into play at any time in the match – be it before the start of the second innings of the match; at the end of an over; at the fall of a wicket or when a batter retires.
