The Indian cricket team thrashed Australia by 6 wickets in the second Test match at Arun Jaitley Stadium against Australia. With two back-to-back wins, the Rohit Sharma side has retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and is leading the four-test match series by 2-0.

Virat Kohli Surpassed Virender Sehwag‘s Record

Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has broken the record of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag at the Delhi Test match. Former Indian opener Sehwag has scored 1738 runs in BGT. Virat has now surpassed Sehwag’s run tally by scoring 64 runs in the second test match.

Kohli Also Broke Sachin Tendulkar’s Record

Besides this, Kohli once again scripted history as the former India skipper scored fasted 25000 International runs. Virat broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the fastest 25000 International runs.

Kohli achieved this milestone at his home ground New Delhi, which made this feat more iconic for him. He became the fastest batter to reach this milestone in style after smashing a straight boundary on Nathan Lyon. 

Before the Delhi match, Kohli needed only 52 runs to complete 25,000 runs in international runs. smashed 44 runs in the first inning of the second Test match before his controversial LBW dismissal. He completed the remaining 8 runs in the second innings.

Talking about the ongoing 4-match Test series, India is currently in a strong position on the 2nd Test against Australia as the visitors lost 9 wickets for only 52 runs. Rohit Sharma and Co. once again managed to end the game in 3 days as they won the game by 6 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the show in the 2nd Test match at Delhi. In the first innings, he picked up 3 wickets for 68 runs, however, it was in the second innings that the star all-rounder unleashed the beast in him. He picked up his career-best figure 7 wickets for 42 runs, thus taking his 2nd 10-wicket haul in the longest format of the game.
