An Old Tweet Of Virat Kohli Has Gone Viral: Royal Challengers Bangalore players and the franchise’s fans were over the moon after the reds qualified for the playoffs following Mumbai Indians’ thrilling 5-wicket win over the Delhi Capitals whose campaign came to an end on a disappointing note.

Had DC won the game, they would have toppled RCB out of the fourth position. For the couple of days leading up to the MI-DC game, RCB fans and even their players had been rallying behind MI showing their support to Rohit Sharma and his boys.

Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik all had shown their support and enthusiasm towards Mumbai; even the RCB Twitter handle changed their profile picture’s colour to blue.

Mumbai ended their disappointing season on a slightly happier note with a win in front of their home crowd at the Wankhede Stadium. Tim David’s 11-ball 34 put the game in MI’s pocket in their chase of 160 as DC players panicked; their bowlers went haywire with their lengths and Pant made embarrassing errros.

As MI paved the way for RCB to go into the playoffs, one decade-old tweet of Virat Kohli for Rohit Sharma went viral.

“well played rohit 🙂 great stuff and good win for us. we are on the board :),” Kohli had tweeted on June 7, 2011. And now the tweet has gone viral on the internet.

This tweet was after India’s victory in an ODI game against West Indies, in which Rohit was the Man of the Match.

well played rohit 🙂 great stuff and good win for us. we are on the board 🙂

— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) June 6, 2011

RCB will now face KL Rahul‘s Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator on May 25 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Thanking the Mumbai Indians franchise, Kohli tweeted:

✈ Kolkata @mipaltan 🤝 @RCBTweets

— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) May 21, 2022

Meanwhile, the first playoff match – Qualifier 1- will be between table-toppers Gujarat Titans and second-placed Rajasthan Royals on May 24 in Kolkata.

The Qualifier 2 – which will see the winner of Eliminator meet the loser of Qualifier 1 – will be held in Ahmedabad, followed by the final – between the winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 – in the same venue.
