PBKS vs KKR: Predicted Playing XI Of Both The Teams: For Match 2 of IPL 2023, the Punjab Kings will be hosting the Kolkata Knight Riders in the afternoon game on Saturday, April 1st. The encounter will take place at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Both the teams have been hit with injuries to their key players and heading into their respective first matches of the season, the combination and playing XI are not fully certain.

Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will be without their regular captain Shreyas Iyer for at least the first half of the Indian Premier League 2023 as Iyer recovers from a back injury. Nitish Rana, who’s been with Kolkata Based Franchise since 2018, has been named as the interim skipper to lead the side in Iyer’s absence.
It has also been learned that Lockie Ferguson is dealing with an injury and hasn’t played any cricket for about 3 weeks and might miss Kolkata’s first match. Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan are also unavailable due to national duties.
As for Punjab Kings, they have already replaced the injured Jonny Bairstow with Matthew Short, the Australian all-rounder could make his IPL debut right away. All-rounder Liam Livingstone is set to miss the Kolkata Knight Riders game as he is yet to get a fitness clearance from the ECB after recovering from a knee injury.
Punjab will also be without Kagiso Rabada in their first match as Rabada will be playing South Africa’s crucial Super League two ODIs vs Netherlands.
